Some questions are too important for an ordinary piece of paper.

This personalized marriage proposal sign turns your love story, poem, letter, or message into something you can actually put in their hands before asking one of the biggest questions of your life.

The sample shown features a romantic poem engraved into wood and slowly works its way toward the final line: "Will you be mine?" It's personal, simple, and a whole lot harder to forget than a text message.

But here's the important part: your sign does not have to use the poem shown in our photos. Send us your own words. Use a poem you wrote, tell the story of how you met, share the things you love about them, write a letter from the heart, or give us another message you want engraved.

If you love the sample and want the same wording and style shown in the photo, just tell us that in the customization box when you order.

Make the Proposal Sound Like You

You don't need to be a professional writer to make this special. Actually, I think it's usually better when you aren't trying too hard to sound like one.

Think about the things only the two of you know.

Where did you meet? What made you realize this person was different? What's something they do that always makes you smile? What's a memory the two of you still laugh about? What are you looking forward to doing together 20 years from now?

Those details are what can turn an ordinary proposal message into your proposal message.

Your Poem, Letter or Love Story Engraved Into Wood

We laser engrave your wording into the wood, giving you a keepsake that can still mean something long after the proposal itself is over.

You can keep things short and let the question do most of the talking, or send us a longer message like the sample shown.

Depending on the amount of wording and available engraving space, ideas can include:

  • Your own marriage proposal poem
  • A personal love letter
  • The story of how you met
  • A favorite memory together
  • Important dates or places
  • A meaningful quote
  • A short message followed by "Will you marry me?"
  • The sample poem shown in our photos
  • Another custom message you create

If you already have a poem that means something to the two of you and simply want it preserved as a keepsake, you can also see our personalized poem wood sign.

Use It as Part of the Actual Proposal

This doesn't have to be a gift you hand over afterward. The sign itself can be part of how you ask.

Set it up somewhere meaningful before your partner arrives. Bring it along to the place where you first met. Use it during a quiet proposal at home. Have them read the message while you're standing beside them with the ring.

There isn't one right way to propose. That's kind of the point.

The sign gives you a way to put everything you want to say in front of them without worrying that nerves are going to make half of it disappear from your head when the moment finally arrives.

And After They Say Yes...

Hopefully this becomes much more than a proposal prop.

After the wedding, the same piece can sit in your bedroom, home, office, or another special place as a reminder of exactly what you said before the two of you started the next part of your life together.

Years later, that's what makes a personalized proposal keepsake so much fun to have. You aren't trying to remember exactly what you said. It's still right there in the wood.

And when you're ready for the next chapter, we also make personalized wedding gifts for couples who want to preserve names, dates, vows, and other pieces of their wedding story.

Want to Use Your Actual Handwriting?

If you've written your proposal, poem, or love letter by hand and the handwriting itself is part of what makes it special, we have another option worth seeing.

Our personalized handwriting wood sign is designed around preserving the look of handwritten words rather than converting everything into a standard font.

That can be especially meaningful if you want the finished piece to look more like the original note you wrote.

How to Order Your Personalized Proposal Sign

  1. Choose the available options for your sign.
  2. Enter the exact wording you want engraved in the customization area.
  3. If you want the sample poem shown in our photos, tell us that in your notes.
  4. Add names, dates, or other personalization you want included.
  5. Carefully proofread your message before placing your order.

Please take a minute to check spelling, names, dates, punctuation, and especially longer messages before submitting them. This is one piece where the words really matter.

Real Wood Makes Every One a Little Different

Wood is a natural material, so grain patterns, coloring, markings, and the appearance of the engraving can vary from one piece to another. We don't expect two pieces of real wood to look perfectly identical.

That's something I actually like about making personalized signs this way. You're already giving us words that belong specifically to your relationship. The piece they're engraved into gets some character of its own too.

Say What You Mean, Then Ask the Question

You can buy a thousand decorations that say "love" on them.

This is different.

This is where you get to tell one person exactly why you love them, what they've brought into your life, and why you don't want to imagine the future without them.

Then comes the question.

Send us the words you want them to read. We'll help you put them into wood. What happens after they reach the last line is up to you.
